The scope and form of the training should directly respond to the needs of the academic community, limited not only to SGH staff but also to other CIVICA universities subject to the same challenges and regulations within the EU (AI Act).In the first phase of preparation for the training, a team of SGH experts dealing with different aspects of the application of artificial intelligence tools in higher education and science will carry out a diagnosis of the knowledge needs of different applications of AI in science and higher education. On this basis, the content areas that should be included in the scope of the training will be selected and the assumed learning outcomes of the training, together with the methods for their verification, will be defined.A team of lecturers will be selected and entrusted with the development of teaching materials for the training, followed by the delivery of classes. In the next stage, the recruitment of participants and the training itself will be organised. At the end of the training, an evaluation of the results will be carried out.
The organisation of a training course on the opportunities and risks of using AI tools in higher education and science fits in with several objectives of this project.Apart from the specific objective related to the preparation of the academic and administrative staff of the CIVICA alliance to meet the multidimensional challenges of AI development, the implementation of such a training course will strengthen cooperation between CIVICA partner universities and influence the strengthening of SGH's position internationally, including in particular on the forum of the CIVICA alliance. It is worth emphasising here that despite the fact that the substantive scope of the training may seem narrow, the increasing use of AI tools in science and higher education (e.g. in the aspect of conducting scientific research - identification of research topics, literature review, translation of texts into and from foreign languages, aspects related to the protection of intellectual property and copyrights, protection of personal data of persons participating in scientific research conducted with the use of artificial intelligence tools) makes these issues key in the context of legal, ethical, substantive and technical conditions of the process of conducting scientific research and its support by universities.
The training will take place in Q2 2026. Rules for the recruitment of trainees and the training programme will be published on this website.
